The CSTHA recently held its XXII Biennial Conference during a virtual event on 5-6 November.  The event was a resounding success, and the CSTHA wishes to extend its sincere thanks and gratitude to keynote speaker Professor Scott Knowles as well as all the conference organizers, panel chairs, speakers and participants.

This year, as part of the event, the CSTHA offered two student prizes for the two best student presentations made during the conference.  On behalf of the CSTHA, the Executive Committee is pleased to announce this year’s winners:

Defining Moments Canada Prize ($500)
Courtney Mrazek (University of New Brunswick),  “‘The most economical terms’: The Mi’kmaq and Health Care in Twentieth-Century Nova Scotia.”

CSTHA Student Prize ($250)
Michael Feagan (Western University), “A Better Class of Working Girls: Intersections of Class and Gender in Canadian Telegraph Operators, 1880-1910.”

Congratulations, Courtney and Michael!

Thank you to our sponsors.

Sincerely,

The CSTHA Executive Committee
